K.T. Hammond Urges Unity Within NPP Ahead of Presidential Primaries

Former Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa K.T. Hammond, has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to put aside internal divisions and focus on unity as the party prepares for its presidential primaries in January 2026.

Speaking during Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign stop in the Ashanti Region on September 10, Hammond expressed concern over growing tensions within the party. He criticized the exclusion of less wealthy members and the use of divisive language, warning that such behavior could harm the party’s future.

“Those of us who helped build the NPP from the ground up didn’t do it for recognition. We sacrificed for this party. The arrogance and separation between the rich and poor must end,” he said.

Hammond emphasized that discipline and solidarity are essential if the NPP hopes to succeed in the upcoming elections. He urged all aspirants and supporters to prioritize the party’s collective strength over personal ambitions.
